List Your Business / ADThe Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board has reported that the air pollution level in Tamil Nadu on Diwali (October 31) was less than last year.
A press release issued by the board said:
On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Pollution Control Board, it is customary to calculate the levels of air pollution factors 7 days before and 7 days after Diwali (Oct 31).
Accordingly, 7 seats in Chennai, 2 seats each in Chengalpattu, Cuddalore, Kanchipuram, Vellore, Salem, Tirupur, Coimbatore, Dindigul, Trichy, Thanjavur, Madurai, Nagapattinam, Tirunelveli, Hosur, Thoothukudi, Nagakovil districts in a total of 39 seats on October 24. The air level is being monitored from 1st to 7th November.
In that way, the air quality index (AQI) was recorded as maximum 287 in Valasarawak, Chennai and minimum 80 in Cuddalore during the survey conducted on October 31 from 6 am to 6 am on November 1.
Of this, it is noteworthy that more than 200 AKIs were recorded in 4 places in Chennai. Coimbatore, Salem, Thoothukudi and Kanchipuram districts reported 150 to 190 AKI.
It is noteworthy that last year the highest air quality index was recorded at 365 in Valasaravak. In that way, due to the measures taken by the Tamil Nadu government and the cooperation of the public, the level of air pollution has decreased slightly this year.
Noise pollution: On October 31, the maximum noise pollution level was recorded at 91.5 decibels at Ossur Municipal Office and 85.6 decibels at Thilla Nagar in Trichy district. Scott College, Nagpur recorded a minimum of 57.3 decibels. Similarly, noise pollution in Chennai was recorded from 59 to 74 decibels.
